Track Review: Beck - I Only Have Eyes For You

Doug Aitken's Song 1 project is currently taking place at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC. The widely covered and highly rated I Only Have Eyes for You has been covered by many artists for Doug's creation, but the one recording that has captured the attention of the listener is Beck's take on the classic doo-wop track. All of the tracks beauty and elegance has been portrays perfectly by Beck. He doesn't let the tracks reputation stand in his way on sticking his own stamp on it.

The glistening piano is the central focus with Becks withdrawn and heavily effected vocal staying central as the guitar moves thoroughly on the right and the percussion makes it's mark on the right. The layout to this track is actually monumental, it really is one of those tracks you just need to play over and over again. The romantic lyrics work with the acsessable melody and harmonic layered vocals. It's not a surprise this track has been gaining hype because of it;s ability to create a mood of love.
