Track Review: Drull - Persona

It's no surprise Drull are coming out with "Persona" when Wild Nothing, The Vaccines, M83, Grimes, and just about 70% of the current wave of new wavers are willing to combine indie rock, electronica, and Kraftwerk. Philadelphia based Drull are no strangers to the synthesizer, thanks to the beat crafting of producer Elijah Amant. He's joined by vocalist Paige and lyricist / instrumentalist Sadot to complete the very individualistic, but also incredibly dynamic trio.

"Persona" was premiered on Noisey, and now has over 60,000 views - a huge leap from the two track bandcamp release in June 2013 with "Last Train to Aberdeen" and "Star Boy". The music video features shots of a beautiful New York skyline and shiny Greece beaches, with model actresses caressing the viewer / listener with attractive imagery. It fits with the music, as Drull embark on a three course meal of the decades, 70s, 80s, and 00s. Expect more from this three-piece, as they finally have the audience their past and present creations deserve.
